Twenty Expenses Paid Fellowships to New Zealand to Be Awarded to EU Researchers

FOOD-FRENZ is a co-ordinated collaboration project between the EU and New Zealand with two key objectives:
(1) To strengthen relationships between consumers, knowledge providers and industry in the EU and NZ; and

As part of the FOOD-FRENZ project we will be awarding twenty expenses paid fellowships to New Zealand for EU researchers from industry and research-based organisations. The hosts represent all of the New Zealand Crown Research Institutes, some of the countries leading universities in this field, together with one of the leading multinational dairy companies. AAH-ABV and WALTHAM Issue a Joint Call for Research Proposals

Press Release Regarding Call for Proposals

The American Association of Human-Animal Bond Veterinarians (AAH-ABV) and WALTHAM are collaborating on a research program exploring the nature of the human-animal bond. These organizations are issuing a call for proposals for investigations into areas of human-animal interaction that either have not been explored or that need further examination. These sponsoring organizations are particularly interested in questions regarding the impact of pets on the physical well-being of children (e.g. immunity, allergy, obesity), how pets affect the quality of life of elderly people, or how culture impacts the human-animal bond. Proposals must be submitted by September 1, 2007.

The AAH-ABV provides education, resources and support that enhance the ability of veterinarians to create positive and ethical relationships among people, animals, and their environment . The WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition is a state-of-the-art pet care facility in the United Kingdom dedicated to progressing the health and welfare of pets worldwide.
