Information about the 53rd ČSEtS Conference
Venue and Date
The conference will take place from November 5–8, 2026, in the historic lecture hall of the Samuel Mikovíni Joint School, at the address: Akademická 13, Banská Štiavnica, Botanical Garden grounds.
The Botanical Garden is just a few minutes' walk from the historic center. Most accommodation facilities in the city center are therefore conveniently reachable on foot.

- 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Scientific talks and poster session, sections in Czech and Slovak
- 7:00 PM: General assembly of the Czech and Slovak Ethological Society
Sunday, November 8, 2026
Two program options will be available:
- Group trip: Visit to the Svet zvierat (Animal World) grounds in Štiavnické Bane, including a falconry show. Estimated price including bus transport and admission is approximately €15 per person, depending on the number of participants. Expected duration of the trip is about 3–4 hours.
- Individual program: A walking visit and descent into the Glanzenberg mine in Banská Štiavnica. Price: €10. Expected duration of the program is about 1 hour.
Exact times and details of the individual program points will be announced later.
Transportation to Banská Štiavnica
Whether traveling from eastern Slovakia or western Czechia, the best option is to travel by train or bus to Zvolen. From Zvolen, you can continue by:
- direct regional bus, which stops in the center of Banská Štiavnica, or
- regional train directly to Banská Štiavnica.
The train station in Banská Štiavnica is located approximately 3 km from the historic center. To get to the center, we recommend using a connecting bus or taxi service. The walk takes approximately 40–45 minutes.
