BRAIN SEMINAR: Conservation and animal behaviour
A one-day seminar will be organised by Per Jensen at Linköping University, Sweden, on the 22nd November 2007. The theme of the seminar day is conservation issues and animal behaviour, focusing on issues such as captivity induced behaviour changes, behaviour and genetic variation, and welfare in captivity. The seminar is free of charge, and participants are welcome to combine the trip with attending the PhD defence of Jennie Hakansson on the 23rd November. This dissertation deals with captivity induced behaviour changes in red junglefowl from a conservation perspective.
Among invited speakers we have the pleasure to welcome dr Elsbeth McPhee from Cornell University, USA, dr Torbjörn Ebenhard from Center for Biodiversity in Uppsala, and professon Claes Andrén from Nordens Ark, a conservation zoo in Sweden.
A full programme and instructions on how to sign up will be circulated in September
